Consumer specialist, Megan Power advises that consumers should be careful when buying on credit as the possibility of a downgrade looms.

Power gives the following advice to consumers ahead of Black Friday.

  • Ask yourself if do you need it?

  • Take a list to avoid buying unnecessary things

  • Remember January is a terrible month of the year and you have school fees to pay

  • Stockpile on the things you need
