"KZN Political killings stifle free discussion"

This week saw two more ANC members killed in KwaZulu-Natal. Since last year 12 members from the ANC Moses Mabhida region have been killed.

De Haas says these killings have a big impact, particularity because politicians are involved.

Whatever the reasons for these killings, they strike fear into the heart of people, they stifle free discussion. There are people now who are living under fear of death but they've taken a strong stand particularly at the Moerane Commission, against corruption. And it's difficult to protect these people.
