Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards is evidence that Kwaito will never die

The Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards will take place on 25 November at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.

The awards were created to celebrate and honour those who are in the house and kwaito genres.

Perfecta Khumalo, CEO at Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards, says the awards are to celebrate the artists who have worked hard to entertain South Africa and have proved that Kwaito is not dead, but very much alive.

She says the voting lines closed last night at 10pm.

It is humbling to see the fans vote for their favourite artists.

Perfecta Khumalo, CEO at Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards

We are looking at the category of the most voted song and it is going to be a very difficult one. We've got songs like "Gobisiqolo" and "O e batla kae" - those are biggest songs but unfortunately I can't say who is going to win the award...

Perfecta Khumalo, CEO at Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards

Tomorrow we want to honour our artists, we want to salute them and say 'well-done' guys don't give up. People say Kwaito is dead and we are here to prove that Kwaito will never die.
