A conversation between Mr. Active and Aubrey had us questioning if Omega 3 is worth the cost? David Katz, also known as Mr Active chats to #WeekendBreakfast host Aubrey about the research and benefits of Omega 3.
A lot of studies have supported that people who consume fishy foods have a lower risks of heart disease says Katz. He adds that taking a high-quality fish oil supplement may benefit your heart, brain and overall health. Their acronyms are EPA, DHA and ALA says Katz. Katz breaks it down by saying that those that come from fish and fish oils, are specific to EPA and DHA.

A New York Times headline about fish oil caused confusion among consumers. The March 2015 article “Fish Oil Claims Not Supported by Research”, referred to a study that suggested omega-3 fats aren’t quite worth the extra money says Katz.
Katz adds that getting good, quality oil from fish based products is expensive. It’s not a cheap product says Katz.
