This week, we're trying to solve a murder mystery on 'The Orient Express.' When a homicide occurs on a train, Detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) is recruited to solve the case. Film Festival Director, Gayle Edmunds reviews the movie and assesses what make’s it hot or not.
It’s no surprise that we get another remake of ‘The Queen of Crime’ Agatha Christie's novel says Edmunds.
She’s the third most bought novelist, after the Bible and Shakesphere, Agatha Christie, according to the Guinness World Book of Records has sold more than 2 billion copies of her book.— Gayle Edmunds, Film Festival Director
Edmunds highlights that Kenneth Branagh produces, directs and stars as Hercule Poirot which could be a problem. With that being said, Edmunds adds that it’s beautifully made and not too long. It was a two hour movie and very good to look at says Edmunds.
There’s a whole lot of people, each of them are hiding a secrets, slowly but surely, like an onion, he peels back the secrets to reveal the most likely, or the least likely suspects.— Gayle Edmunds, Film Festival Director
The film features a star-studded cast including:
Penelope Cruz as Pilar Estravados, Willem Dafoe as Gerhard Hardman, Judi Dench as Princess Dragomiroff, and Johnny Depp as Samuel Ratchett.
