A few months ago Virgin Active embarked on various interventions to lower their overall water consumption in their gyms across the country.
This includes the use of rain water for topping up their pools and closing their steam rooms.
MD at Virgin Active, Ross Faragher-Thomas says they have introduced more water saving measures and increased awareness to members.
He says they have installed low-flow shower heads in their bathrooms.
That has moved us from 25 000 litres of water to 14 000 litres per club per day and we are on target to reach 9 000 in the next 60 days.— Ross Faragher-Thomas, MD at Virgin Active
