Baleka Mbete: This is not a war
ANC presidential candidate and national chairperson Baleka Mbete is adamant that the party will have a successful elective conference even though there are looming court cases and factional battles.
Mbete added that the battles are not a war.
She went on to express her dissatisfaction with people leaving the party and also forming their own parties.
It’s always a very painful thing when any of us leave the fold, even if we differ. It’s not something we celebrate that Makhosi Khoza is forming another party, should still engage even when they go off and form another party.Baleka Mbete ANC presidential candidate
The presidential hopeful was asked if President Jacob Zuma is fit to be in office to which she replied he has led the party.
On the issue of the late Fezeka Kuzwayo, also known as Khwezi, Mbete said the courts have answered the question on whether Zuma raped her or not.
Mbete added that she is contesting to be the next ANC president because she has experience.
Because the ANC is a democratic organization and I have served it for 40 years. The ANC has taught me that if you believe that you can do something go for it, stand.Baleka Mbete ANC presidential candidate
