Do Christians have to tithe? A debate on biblical teachings

What does the Bible say about Christian tithing?

A tithe is commonly understood as one-tenth of a person's monthly income paid as a contribution to a church or religious organisation.

Religious buffs debate this with Koketso Sechane, standing-in for Eusebius McKaiser.

Christian singer and media personality Sibongile Mlangeni believes that it is unscriptural for Christians to pay tithes.

If we have to pay the tithe, then why are we doing it every month? For me, it doesn't make sense.

However, Pastor Thabo Nxumalo says that biblical basis for tithing is often misunderstood.

We need to use text to define tithes.
