There have been a lot of questions raised over a R24 fee charged for overseas parcels by the South African Post Office (Sapo).
Those buying items from overseas websites such as Aliexpress, Wish.com and Amazon have been asked to pay a post office handling fee of R24 on collection.
Head of mail operations at Sapo, Mark van Rensburg says that the fee has been there, it is not a new thing and it is a handling fee for custom items that are coming into the country.

The R24 is charged per parcel and if you have 100 items in one parcel you'll still pay the handling fee of R24, says van Rensburg.
