City of Joburg explains R270 bill for pre-service termination notices

Member for the Mayoral Committee for Finance in the City of Johannesburg, Dr Rabelani Dagada says residents can receive a refund if they are wrongfully issued with a pre-service termination notice.

Earlier on the Breakfast Show 702 callers complained about a bill of R270 for the delivery of the pre-termination notices they had wrongfully received.

Stephen Grootes spoke to Dagada to understand why this billing occurs.

It is not a money making scheme, if that pre-termination was wrong we have to refund you as the City.

Dr Rabelani Dagada, MMC for Finance in the City of Johannesburg

The money we actually charge you goes to those who deliver those notices, so in reality it is not the City that makes money in this instance.
