ANC Mpumalanga to hold its much anticipated PGC

The African National Congress in Mpumalanga says it's all systems go ahead of it's Provincial General Council on Friday morning.

The province is expected to consolidate branch nominations for the party’s leadership race.

There is much anticipation around the gathering as no one knows which way branches will vote, between candidates Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and Cyril Ramaphosa.

ANC Mpumalanga Spokesperson, Sasekani Manzini says they are note expecting any surprises.

We have dealt with everything that was supposed to be dealt with so we are not expecting anything at this moment.

The province has repeatedly called for unity within the ruling party.

In September, ANC Mpumalanga Chairperson David Mabuza proposed that the party does away with slate politics, and instead comes up with "consensus leadership" ahead of the December conference.

Any member or leader of the ANC should be pushing for unity.
