Demi-Leigh Nel- Peters is in New York to kick off her duties as Miss Universe.
Nel-peters competed against 90 contestants to become the second South African ever to win the title.
She spoke to Ray White on The Midday Report about the moment she was crowned, the significance of the event and what she will miss most about SA.
I think pageants have changed so much over the years, especially Miss Universe.
