Political analyst Ralph Mathekga says the SACP's preoccupation with the ANC could set them back.

He says the SACP has failed to hatch their own political strategy, following their attempt to independently contested the Metsimaholo by-election.

Mathekga says the SACP had no time to establish it's own plan.
