On your marks, get set and go with the BMW X3

Africa didn’t have the words to articulate the feeling, joy and incredible experience he had travelling from Cape Town to Johannesburg in the BMW X3.

It has features like intelligent emergency services that come in handy when you get into an accident says BMW Groups Communication Head, Edward Makawana. He adds that you can press an SOS button in the car, which triggers a call directly to the call center.

We all live in a highly-connected environment, so you are able to connect your smartphone to the car.

Makwana says that the car is the second bestselling X model and a third-generation BMW X3. BMW highlights that the new model is bulkier than its predecessors, but the luggage capacity is still the same. Furthermore, the front and rear LED lights have been designed to reflect a 3D look with a low rear roof spoiler giving it a coupe roof line feel.

The car can even book itself for service by reading the cars data and sending it to the nearest BMW dealer says Makwana.

All models appear to be fitted with an 8-speed steptronic gearbox. As expected, weight has been shed with the new X3 over the old and it sits around 55 kg lighter now. The South African built X3 will only begin production in April 2018 which mean that our first batch of X3s will be imported before local production takes over.
