A new South African documentary called “uMama” is celebrating the importance of maternal figures in transforming and shaping South Africa.

The doccie is directed by Professor Marion Keim, and was adapted from her earlier book with the same name and subject matter.

"Umama" explores the influence of mothers and grandmothers on a range of famous and influential South African figures in fields such as sport, politics and entertainment.
