ANC KZN backs Dlamini Zuma for presidency, Gauteng ANC goes for Ramaphosa

Today the KZN African National Congress (ANC hosted) their Provincial General Council, where they named Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma as their preferred party president. The ANC in Gauteng has chosen Cyril Ramaphosa for the post of ANC president.

Mdumiseni Ntuli, ANC KZN spokesperson says that they are satifisfies with the work of their branches, adding that the nomination of Dlamini Zuma consolidated a presentation that was done. Despite Dlamini Zuma win, there was a high number of votes for Ramaphosa. Ntuli says this is expected.

Overall, our impression is that both comrade Nkosazana and comrade Cyril are national of the African National Congress. It was expected that they should enjoy a national foot print throughout the country, including in our province.

Nkenke Kekana, ANC Gauteng Provincial Executive Head of Communications says that they are going into the the National conference united as one organisation.

He says he high level of discipline shown in the way they nominated their preferred candidate indicated how smoothly the NEC will be.

The high level of discipline and determination that was demonstrated in our province's general council is something that is encouraging, because our branches are putting the ANC first.
