Heath Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has announced that at least 30 people have died in South Africa due to the disease.
Listeriosis is a disease that is attacking the nation in the most brutal way possible and Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi says that the disease is caused by bacteria that naturally thrives in soil, water and vegetation.

Dr Motsoaledi says that if the body is contaminated, it can be identified with these 3 bodily changes:
1) Flu like symptoms, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea 2) An infection of the blood stream 3) Membranes infected
Dr Motsoaledi says that the problem with the outbreak is that the infection doesn't occur in the same place.

It hasn't been a problem for over 40 years says Dr Motsoaledi, but this time around, doctors started seeing a large number of newborn babies who have this infection he adds.
