Meds, booze, food and groceries delivered to your door with SA app, Zulzi

Entrepreneur Donald Valoyi is the founder and CEO of Zulzi, a mobile app that offers on-demand delivery platforms.

Zulzi is an on-demand delivery platform for goods and services such as meals, groceries, liquor or pharmaceuticals.

The app is in partnership with stores such as Pick n Pay, Woolworths, and delivers in under an hour.

It currently operates North of Johannesburg and plans to expand rapidly in the coming months.

Valoyi was born and raised in a village called Ntshuxi, in Giyani, a north-eastern town in the Limpopo,

He furthered his studies at Wits University before working as a software developer in Cape Town, where he grew his skills working for several large firms.

In 2016 he decided to launch Zulzi, and saw an opportunity for an online, on-demand delivery service after three years running an e-Commerce platform that sold books and electronics to students.

He says his mother has played a crucial role is building his resilient character and inspiring his entrepreneurial dribe.

The company has been running over 1 year. It hires over 20 personal shoppers, 35 independent drivers and has six full-time office-bound staffers.

While Zulzi has a turnover of R600 000 a month, Valoyi says there are challenges to expansion in the on-demand space.

Zulzi used to become an e-Commerce business before.
