Coffin assault duo apply for bail at Middelburg High Court

Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, infamously known as the coffin assault duo are back in court to apply for bail. They appeared in the Middelburg High Court to make their plea.

EWN Reporter, Pelane Phakgadi says that their legal team has asked the court to use its discretion to suspend their imprisonment and treat them as un-convicted accused, pending the SCA ruling.

Phakgadi adds that Oosthuizen's attorney is of the view that a different court may agree to the plea.

Wayne Gibbs, Oosthuizen's attorney is of the view that a different court may come to a different sentence, or perhaps even find that the two months that the duo have already served in prison since conviction in October is enough punishment.
