Political Desk: NDPP ruling demonstrates Zuma's delaying tactics - Karima Brown

On Friday, a full bench in Pretoria set aside the termination of former prosecutions boss Mxolisi Nxasana's contract, as well as the appointment of current head Shaun Abrahams.

The High Court also ordered that President Jacob Zuma have no say in the appointment of a new National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) because he faces the prospect of criminal prosecution himself, and is conflicted.

Political analyst Karima Brown explains what this means and gives her take on the matter.

I think what is really interesting here is that all this time later, you have a ruling that almost meticulously indicates the way in which President Jacob Zuma has used a delaying tactic to try and stay out of the courts.

This matter is eventually going to turn in the Constitutional court. An incredibly far reaching judgment something there is of course going to be a lot of debate about but it happens in a loaded political environment, five days before we go and elect a new ANC president.
