Political Desk: 'Unity on a ballot amounts to a spoilt ballot'

The ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Executive Committee has received a boost after a the Grahamstown High Court dismissed an application to nullify the conference.

While Mathews Phosa dropped his urgency bid while continuing to challenge the Mpumalanga provincial general council outcome in exchange for intervention from the national ANC.

Karima Brown spoke to Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe on Tuesday to find out how these developments will pan out and whether it will affect the national conference.

Lets just get into the bid by Matthews Phosa, they dropped the urgent bid and instead negotiated with Luthuli house an d what they got was an agreement that the national leadership would send people to Mpumalanga to go an investigate, what Gwede Mantashe said however is that's a task that might well fall onto the entree of the incoming NEC.
