Multichoice says it has noted a series of claims made on social media surrounding the rape of one of it's employees.
A series of tweets have been circulated with claims that the 28-year-old woman was gang raped by her senior colleagues.
In a statement, the company says the woman had informed them that she had been sexually assaulted and kidnapped in 2014, but it insists no mention was made of the perpetrators.
Multichoice says it is investigating.
Stephen Grootes shares his sentiments on the matter.
You have companies that have responsibility to do things but also I think don't always know how to respond and then you have people part of the me too dynamic who sort of feel that they need to out people who have attacked them, and there is no response from the people who have done it...— Stephen Grootes, 702 anchor
What you have is quite a complex, difficult situation, I am not sure as a society we have actually worked out how to deal with this. I think the way the law deals with this is wrong and I think we need to think again about how we deal with sexual assaults, rape and the law.— Stephen Grootes, 702 anchor
