Installing water meters for individual units in sectional titles a way to go

One of the proposals in the Draft Water Amendment By-law by the City of Cape Town, which is now available for public comment, is that council have greater powers in getting water management devices and water meters installed for individual units in sectional titles.

Property attorney at Marlon Shevelew and Associates, Marlon Shevelew says if approved the by-law will allow body cooperates to identify which individuals are liable for contravening the by-laws.

The only way to do it is to install independent meters per unit, it is the only way to do it.
