Zimbabwe’s new President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be appointed the president and first secretary of Zanu-PF at an extraordinary congress on Friday, cementing his reign over Zimbabwe ahead of the presidential elections next year.
The conference is set to discuss decisions taken at last month's special committee meeting where the party recalled the former president, Robert Mugabe.
Ray White spoke to shadow ambassador for the MDC in South Africa, Austin Moyo.
What Mnangagwa is busy with, is consolidating his power which has been shown by this congress which has been shrunk from three days to one day, the other thing is lack of policy.— Austin Moyo, Shadow Ambassador for the MDC in South Africa
The policies that they are implementing, they seem not to understand them, because they are not the ones who crafted them, so we understand why there is not much happening.— Austin Moyo, Shadow Ambassador for the MDC in South Africa
