Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has made a call on Twitter for matriculates who previously could not afford studying at universities to report to the institutions and apply.
Universities SA have asked that they refrain from doing this to prevent chaos. Ahmed Bawa, CEO Universities SA says that there is a facility called Central Application Clearing House (CACH) to assist students who did not apply to universities prior to receiving their results.

Bawa says the key challenge with students pitching up in large numbers to universities to apply, is the risk of injury.
