What in the World Happened to... the MTN win a plane competition.

Last year MTN launched a very exciting competition where the Company were giving away a Sling 4 four-seater aeroplane to a lucky and loyal customer. This was quite a controversial competition, as giving away a plane is not something that happens everyday. The winner was announced but 702 land listeners are still curious about what happened to the competition and whether the winner took to the skies in his new aeroplane.

Xolani Gwala spoke to the General Manger of MTN SA, Gaba Majola about the competition and what sparked this idea, as well as what happened to the winner. Majola commented that the competition came about in conjunction with MTN's then catch phrase "The Sky is the limit". The winner of the prize was a Durban based Doctor, who opted for the cash equivalent prize of R 1, 7 million, which was an option in the terms of the competition.

According to Majola, the winner said he was going to use the money to further the education of his children, and donate 10% to charity.
