Proof that kidnapped SA photojournalist is still alive - Gift of the Givers
Gift of the Givers says it has received proof that South Africa photojournalist Shiraaz Mohamed is still alive nearly a year after he was kidnapped in Syria.
Mohamed was kidnapped near the Turkish border when he left the country on a mission with the Gift of the Givers.
The organisation's Imtiaz Sooliman says they received a call from an anonymous person on 26 December.
A guy called us, he just said you guys are speaking to too many people we are the ones you should speak to, we can help you with Shiraaz.Imtiaz Sooliman, Founder and Chairman of Gift of the Givers
I said ok the proof of the pudding is, we are going to send you ten questions, if you can ask Shiraaz to answer those ten questions then we know you are the right person to talk to.Imtiaz Sooliman, Founder and Chairman of Gift of the Givers
Last night he called and said I have the answers to the questions, and the answers were 100% perfect.Imtiaz Sooliman, Founder and Chairman of Gift of the Givers
