Rachel Kolisi: Men seem more supportive of breastfeeding in public than women

Rachel Kolisi, the wife of Springbok rugby player Siya Kolisi, has taken to social media to vent her frustrations at people who are giving her a hard time about nursing her newborn in public.

Kolisi says she took to social media to hear what people who follow her on Instagram thought about breastfeeding in public.

She says the response coming from men was more supportive of breastfeeding in public than that of women.

I experienced that when my daughter needs to feed, a lot of the time I get people giving me funny looks and people feeling uncomfortable which in turn makes you feel uncomfortable.

So I extended this on Instagram and it was interesting to see that a lot of women felt uncomfortable to breastfeed in public and a lot of men were so supportive of it which is really awesome to see.

If you are in a space where people ask you to feed your child in the toilet, you are more than welcome and it is your right to tell them to go and eat their sushi in the toilet.
