Bongani Bingwa speaks to clinical psychologist Hayden Knibbs about how to deal with changes you may face in the new year.

Change can be scary for some, more so when you do not know what to expect.

Bongani Bingwa spoke to clinical psychologist Hayden Knibbs about some of the common anxieties around changes and how to navigate the new year a little better.

Hayden Knibbs, clinical psychologist

When it comes to change, if you first look at closing off the first context that one is leaving, the most effective way to do it, is to first have a bit of a reflect on it, to address whatever it is that is changing - think about it, talk about it, all elements of it - the good and the bad. That if done effectively, allows us how to process whatever emotions are there, enabling us to move on....

Hayden Knibbs, clinical psychologist
