Psychologist's tips on how to let go and move on in 2018
Change can be scary for some, more so when you do not know what to expect.
Bongani Bingwa spoke to clinical psychologist Hayden Knibbs about some of the common anxieties around changes and how to navigate the new year a little better.
The important thing about change clinically speaking, is that the depth of the impact of change will vary on the individual and on the situation at hand.

When it comes to change, if you first look at closing off the first context that one is leaving, the most effective way to do it, is to first have a bit of a reflect on it, to address whatever it is that is changing - think about it, talk about it, all elements of it - the good and the bad. That if done effectively, allows us how to process whatever emotions are there, enabling us to move on....

The next chapter of change is when entering the new context what is important is actually to take some time to think a little bit about it and to focus on one's potential needs within the context.
