Federal Executive Chairperson James Selfe says the reason a motion of no confidence has not yet been put forth against Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille, is because of her strong objections to the findings of the Steenhuisen Report.
Selfe says that now they have taken the findings of the Steenhuisen Report relating to De Lille and translated them into disciplinary charges.
The mayor contests very strongly the veracity of much of the content of the Steenhuisen Committee.— James Selfe DA Federal Chairperson
We are going to be serving charge sheet against the mayor, but then the mayor will have the opportunity within the federal legal commission of the DA, to supply her side of the story to the extent that she can disabuse the allegations that have been made against her.— James Selfe DA Federal Chairperson
Selfe says that they are now creating an urgent process that must be completed in 60 days. He adds that all the people mentioned in the Steenhuisen Report are being investigated.
