Hawks Mulaudzi neither confirms or denies reports about possible Guptas arrests

There are reports that warrants of arrest are being prepared for at least one of the Gupta brothers, as well as some politicians implicated in state capture.

The speculation over the arrests follows investigations within the NPA into the dealings of the Guptas.

Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed that the Hawks are working closely to with the NPA to ensure that those who are implicated are prosecuted.

Mulaudzi would not go into details as to what exactly the Hawks, in collaboration with the NPA, are working on.

We are more concerned about the criminal case on the cases that we are pursuing. These are issues that we cannot put out there in the public space until whoever who is being investigated is charged.

We are also South African, and we believe that there has been a lot of looting that has been taking place in government, SOEs and the private sector, and it is about time that people go to court and answer for what they have done.
