Anoj Singh - we've got evidence - is telling lie after lie, says amaBhungane

I hope he gets asked who this Mr A Singh is who the Guptas paid R600 000 in Dubai… and the shell company AS Global that was set up in parallel, and also received R600 000… and the shell company called Venus Limited that was set up in a secrecy haven in the UAE by the Guptas for Anoj Singh. They gave it to him! Why?

The pattern is not in his favour, nor is the clear, direct evidence.

Eskom’s former Chief Financial Officer, Anoj Singh, was grilled on Tuesday by the committee investigating allegations of state capture at Eskom.

He denied that the Gupta family, or any entity linked to them, paid for any of his trips to Dubai in 2015 and 2016.

His denial came despite being presented with an invoice made out to Gupta-owned Sahara Computers for a trip he admitted he took.

Singh did, however, admit to staying in the same hotel, at the same time, as the Guptas on, at least, one occasion.

He might be looking a bit uneasy… but he’s not wavering much from his position that he brought here…

Lindsay Dentlinger, EWN

…he said Eskom actually gained from that transaction…

Lindsay Dentlinger, EWN

He has not been asked why he resigned.

Lindsay Dentlinger, EWN

It’s impossible to believe!

Craig McKune, amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism

We counted seven Dubai trips arranged by the Guptas… I can go on…
