[LISTEN] Home is where the heart is for Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Miss Universe

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters chats to Stephen Grootes about her experience as Miss Universe so far, and what the title means to her.

Nel-Peters says that she returned home on Wednesday morning and it’s been a wonderful experience to be back and engage with the South African people.

It’s been two months now and I’ve had quite a few trips abroad, says Nel-Peters. She adds that she had to adjust to being called Miss Universe for the first two weeks.

Nel-Peters says that being Miss Universe constitutes more than wearing beautiful dresses and getting your make up done. She adds that it’s about having a platform to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

I started a campaign called ‘Unbreakable’ after I experienced a hijack.
