Magwaza speaks of strained relationship between himself and Bathabile Dlamini

Former Sassa CEO Thokozani Magwaza has given the Sassa Inquiry his version of events that lead to the social grants crisis.

Magwaza resigned July last year after his contract was terminated.

He clashed with Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini over the unlawful workstreams amid the social grants debacle.

Eyewitness News reporter Thando Kubheka has more on developments in the inquiry.

Magwaza focused largely on his working relationship with the minister. Magwaza told the inquiry that he felt that Dlamini was interfering with the smooth running of Sassa.

He said he felt that she ran the department as though it was her own business and did not want to listen to anybody else's views.
