[LISTEN] Police investigating Reiger Park High sexual abuse scandal

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesfui says police are probing allegations of sexual abuse at Reiger Park NR 2 High School.

The principal at the East Rand school has been accused of engaging in sexual activities, with pupils.

Videos of the alleged acts surfaced online, prompting an investigation by the education department.

Lesufi says police have spoken to the relative parties.

I am quite convinced that with the work that they have done since yesterday , they will be in a position to make a breakthrough.

Panyaza Lesufi, Gauteng Education MEC

It is involvement of teachers with the principal more than the involvement of teachers with learners. Those particular teachers that have been identified, we have already served them with notices and removed them from the school premises. There are also allegations against members of the SGB as well.
