Sapu pleased with Mbalula's withdrawal of derogatory tweets on Krugersdorp Saps

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula is notorious for spreading his opinion on Twitter. After the recent violent protests in Krugersdorp, Mogale City the South African Police Union (Sapu) were not happy with the comments Mbalula tweet, particularly on the station commanders involved in the protests.

Mpho Kwinika, president of Sapu, says that since they declared their displeasure at the tweets, Mbalula withdrew his comments.

We were worried about what he had tweeted about of those station commissioners and the cluster commander in Krugersdorp.

We are also very happy to pronounce that [Mbalula] has taken an honourable decision. He withdrew that tweet, which was very offending to those members.

He adds that they are working with the minister on what he says on Twitter.
