MK council condemns actions of Thabang Setona outside Luthuli House

Thabang Makwetla, MK council member, says former MK members warned against anti and pro-Zuma protests in 2016.

“It was clear to us that those who are benefitting from the wrong things in government won’t go without a fight.”

The ANC’s Thabang Setona was caught on camera kicking a woman during clashes between the Black First Land First and so-called "Defenders of Luthuli House".

The party condemned this and suspended Setona and he later handed himself over to the police.

Makwetla condemned the violence that happened today saying he doesn’t understand why violence was used.

You cannot have any group of people who purport to have the capacity to protect lives in South Africa who are not mandated to do so. We have police, military establishment to deal with unlawful acts.
