On Saturday night, a blazing fire broke out in the Johannesburg CBD. Two firefighters died on the scene during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The colleagues of the deceased claim that the two died due to a lack of proper communication equipment and that their deaths should not have happened.
702's Xolani Gwala received a call from Tshepo, a fire fighter at the scene, who claimed that the fire fighters don't have sufficient equipment.

An investigation is underway to find out the actual cause of their deaths, but while MMC of Public Safety, Sello Lemao told Xolani that although he doesn't wish to entertain these allegations, he is certain, based on reports that he has heard, that the firemen did have sufficient equipment. The investigation is still pending and will be revealed once it has been concluded.
