The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will forge ahead with their call for a special sitting of Parliament before the State of the Nation Address, to debate a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.
It comes as the party’s NEC plans to meet on Wednesday to discuss a possible exit strategy for Zuma.
On Monday EFF leader Julius Malema said they will table a motion of no confidence in Zuma just before the Sona.
Chairperson of the EFF Dali Mpofu says insists the Sona should be delivered by someone who respects the Constitution.
We are going to make the political point, emphatically as we usually do. If their response to that is physical violence, well it has happened before. It is not in our hands.— Dali Mpofu, Chairperson of the EFF
Upwards of R4 million or R5 million will be spent for the nation to be addressed by someone, who even by his own party, is on his way out the door.— Dali Mpofu, Chairperson of the EFF
