How recoiling in horror at price of strollers led to wildly successful NulaBaby

It is super-easy to start your online store! Social media has allowed businesses to be seen… you get sponsored ads on Facebook, you get Google Ads… Online has given us the advantage…

Tatum Billson, NulaBaby

When Tatum Billson fell pregnant with her firstborn, she was shocked to learn how much a good stroller would set her back.

Instead of buying what she believed was an overpriced luxury, she browsed the internet and came across a number of interesting suppliers.

Some were willing to send a sample to South Africa, with a few changes of Billson’s choice, without charging shipping costs.

She bought one, and two weeks later it arrived.

The product was excellent; she ordered 50.

She sold every single one of them on pre-order, before they even arrived in the country.

To date, Billson sold 2000 (and counting!) “NulaBugs”.

She has expanded her range to seven different strollers, nursery furniture, rocking chairs, booster car seats and accessories.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed NulaBaby's Billson for his weekly “ShapeShifter” feature.

Billson spoke about her business, and its “extreme highs and lows”.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and/or scroll down for more quotes from it).
