#ZumaMustGo march convener claims members beaten up

A group calling itself #ZumaMustGo gathered on Monday at the Union Buildings.

The march they were organising has been given a thumbs down by the Gauteng ANC and SACP.

Convener of the #ZumaMustGo march says they were threatened on Monday morning.

There was a bakkie and a kombi, and in that bakkie, there were more than thirty people with firearms. And there was chaos that happened - some of our supporters were beaten.

Maumele adds that transport for supporters from the township was also stopped.

I was called aside by six NEC members who pleaded with me to postpone the meeting, saying 'wait until we announce. If we are not successful on the terms, then you guys can continue from tomorrow.'

We took that advice from the elders and agreed to wait.
