Mulaudzi: Three state capture suspects to appear in court on Thursday

The Hawks raided at least two properties in Johannesburg on Wednesday morning, including the Gupta family home in Saxonwold.

The Hawks spokesperson, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi says the Hawks were not raiding the premises but rather executing arrests, following the investigations into state capture and the Vrede farm dairy corruption scandal.

We have arrested three suspects and there are two that we are expecting will hand themselves over this afternoon.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, The Hawks spokesperson

We are very much hopeful, with the investigations that we have done that all the people that have been fingered will be in custody today.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, The Hawks spokesperson

Mmulaudzi declined to say who the arrested suspects are because they haven't appeared in court, but identities will be known after Thursday court appearance.

We have warrants of arrest that has been issued against these people. If you are at work we will come to your work and if you are at home we come to your home and process you in Pretoria.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, The Hawks spokesperson

This is not the end of it, it's just the beginning and we are still going to see more of this. The country must just be patient enough with us, we cannot just do everything at a go. We are working on a plan and that plan has been executed.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, The Hawks spokesperson

EWN reporter, Mia Lindeque was at Saxonwold when the arrests were made and says the neighbors confirmed that the commotion started around 2 am, meaning the Hawks were inside the property for over 8 hours.

EWN reporter Mandy Wiener, who is in Bedforview, says the properties that were raided are linked to the Guptas.

She says she didn't see anyone being arrested at the time she arrived at the premises, so it is still unclear whether anyone was arrested in Bedfordview.
