Sinazo Magadlela claims victory at Brain of 702 quarter-finals at Eastgate

Eastgate Shopping Centre was abuzz this Saturday as the five Dis-Chem Brain of 702 quarter-finalists from the week battled it out for a R5 000 cash prize and a spot in the semi-final round which will take place at the end of February.

However it was 19 year old BA Law student Sinazo Magadlela from Wits University who came out victorious answering a total of 15 questions correct which was the top score for the day.

The mall activation proved nothing less than exhilarating for spectators, players and even the judges. It was a fun-filled event where listeners got to mingle with their favourite 702 Presenters.

702's Azania and Ray White were the overall judges making sure no stone was left unturned in the attempt to crown the ultimate fact fanatic from the week.

Sinazo was given 90 seconds to answer a train of 25 questions from breakfast host Bongani Bingwa who was the quiz-master for the day. Her love for pop culture, sports and current affairs helped her beat entrepreneur Mosekwa Tshikosi, customer services administrator Wendy Higgins, Quality auditor Wayne Muller and environmental science student Mukoni.

The annual competition gives those with a brilliant bank of general knowledge a chance to cash in and show off, both on-air and in front of a live audience at the weekly mall activations.
