Minister of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor expects Sona will outline the NEC's plans for improving the country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa set to deliver the State of the Nation (Sona) on Friday evening.

Minister of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor says that the NEC outlined their mandate on 8 January 2018 and shows what programmes they want to undertake. She adds that she expects this will be main focus of Sona.

We're committed to addressing matters of job creation, the economy is going to be a significant for us. Really bedding down sectors where we think there's opportunity for growth, such as manufacturing, agriculture.

Minister of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor

We're not expecting to begin with a new sketch. It's really to intensify, ensure that we are there, where we are not getting the impact that we need, we begin to make a shift. We look forward to, what I think is going to be an uplifting and encouraging state of the nation address.
