Agri Western Cape says more job losses can be expected on livestock farms, where seasonal workers are hardest hit by the drought.

CEO Carl Opperman says that many livestock farms are trying their best to keep their farm workers.

Opperman explains that many farmers in the Swartland area, considered to be the country's breadbasket, have battled to cover their costs and are in debt due to poor wheat harvests.
