CapeTalk's John Maytham says he has received many calls and messages about what to do about a number of recent attacks and robberies on Noordhoek Beach in the far south of Cape Town.
They all say the same thing...and I wish I had someone to put those ideas to.— John Maytham, CapeTalk host
But he says he is also mindful of the other side of town.
You then factor into this SMS I've just got now. 'We can't walk free in the township. We get killed every day and sadly it does not even make the inside of the paper.'— John Maytham, CapeTalk host
Whereas this attack, says John, was front page news on the weekend.
And on the weekend you will probably find that a dozen or more people were killed in Khayelitsha or Nyanga. Was that in the paper? No, it's not at all....so how do you factor in that reality as well to our conversation?— John Maytham, CapeTalk host
