[LISTEN] 'Gigaba must comfort investors'

Finance minister Malusi Gigaba will deliver the 2018 budget speech in Parliament today.

But one independent economist says Gigaba is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Speaking to Bongani Bingwa on the Political Desk, Dr Leoka says for Gigaba to show he is in charge, he must demonstrate that he is able to close the budget deficit.

Investors have been worried about the state of of our state-owned entities, already we have made a big move in changing the board of Eskom and also the CEO.

Dr Thabi Leoka, Independent Economics

Dr Leoka also touched on the issue of land distribution, saying there haven't been any studies on how it should be handled. She says from a mortgage perspective it is still not known who will foot the bill.

Listen to Dr Leoka share what Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba can do to assure investors.
