Missing Cape Town couple's vehicle found north of Durban

The police suspect there may be a link in the disappearance of a missing Cape Town couple, allegedly kidnapped while on holiday in KwaZulu-Natal, and the terror group Isis.

A second couple was arrested because of a suspected connection to the disappearance of the unnamed couple.

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation's in the Hawks Captain Lloyd Ramovha says the couple has not yet been located and there is no connection to the arrested couple at this stage.

He says the police are not in a position to divulge the names due to the sensitivity of the case and for operational reasons.

According to Ramovha, the arrested couple is facing charges of robbery, kidnapping, and arson.

Right now our members are working hard on the ground to locate the couple and as a result, they have located the couple's vehicle this morning. Forensic analysis is being carried out to give us further guidance.

Ramovha says there is hope in finding the missing couple now that their vehicle has been located.

The vehicle was found on the Northern side of Durban.
