Optimum mine workers still not paid, worker describes living without her salary

Over 2 000 Optimum mine workers have not been paid, this comes after the Bank of Baroda announced its departure from South Africa. The mine workers have been on strike since Wednesday.

According to Pakgadi mine workers say they cannot go by without their monthly salaries. They demanded operations still ongoing within the mine be brought to a stand still immediately.

The mine management has not been media friendly, we have been relying on workers representatives to give feedback. What came out from the meeting between NUM and management is that it has been put under business rescue.
