The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has confirmed that prosecutions boss Shaun Abrahams has made his decision on whether to prosecute former President Jacob Zuma.
The State attorney has sent a letter to the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (Casac) asking that it waive a two week notice period Abrahams said he would give the organisation before making the announcement.
Eyewitness News reporter Barry Batemen says the decision is expected to be made public next month.
In this letter that Abrahams sent to Casac, we understand on Friday, was the national director honoring this undertaking. He simply disclosed to them a decision has been taken and I am ready to let all parties know that I have made decision on the 15th of March which is that two week window.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
However, he also says, if Casac is willing to waive this two week time, as soon as possible, he will be able to make this decision public.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
